About Jean-Benoit Larouche

Jean-Benoit first joined Nutaq back in April 2009 as a Field Application Engineer (FAE). His main tasks were training and supporting the overseas clients/distributors on the Nutaq product line. In 2011, he introduced a partnership between Laval University and Nutaq regarding the development of the OFDM reference design, as his Master degree project. He worked in continuous collaboration with Nutaq during that time. From august 2013 to april 2017, Jean-Benoit went back to Nutaq as a technical expert in the field of OFDM and digital signal processing on FPGA, followed by an intense year at Leddartech as one of the main FPGA designer of their 3D LiDAR product. Jean-Benoit then seized an opportunity to work for AW2S, in Bordeaux, France, to work on the implementation of an digital ultra-wideband Remote Radio Head. He now works as a 5G Research Engineer for Sherbrooke's University, working on channel sounding for the 5G era.The main technical interests of Jean-Benoit are related from RF down to digital signal processing. He enjoys working on physical layer technologies and algorithms, software defined radios, phased arrays, beamforming, MIMO technologies and radio communications in general. Basically, anything that has an antenna.Because he worked closely with clients and customers and because of his academic background in radio communications, Jean-Benoit’s knowledge helps to understand client’s need regarding wireless, digital signal processing and RF applications. Also, Jean-Benoit's experience permits him to share his knowledge through blogs, conferences, webinars but also permits him to be part of waveform design projects as technical expert and FPGA designer.
