About Jean Boyd

My expertise has been in developing excellent commercial relationships with the broker community whilst working towards sales and retention targets. Some of my roles in the past have involved being in an on site underwriting facility working towards stretch targets. My ability to influence and negotiate in a sometimes difficult trading environment has lead to me working successfully both as a business development manager and a Level 2 liability & property underwriter. I enjoy working in the insurance industry. • My varied experience in the insurance market has given me an insight into the current market opportunities and challenges. A role in the Product Team in Aviva was an obvious choice due to my experience in both underwriting and sales. This new role will allow my to have imput into underwriting strategy and the development of new products. • I am a member of the local Galway Insurance Institute Council, and believe in best practice and education in the insurance industry. In Aviva I gave lectures on the CIP exams from 2002 to 2006, also I am currently on the panel for giving lectures for the Insurance Institute of Ireland on the ACII syllabus. My CPD is up to date
