I have invested nearly 30 years in the health care industry, initially from 1984-1990, with direct care of the developmentally disadvantaged population while pursuing my undergraduate degree in the field of Biology. My investment from 2010-2013 required active involvement in the trends towards electronic billing exchange, managed care compliance, and ongoing CMS/MAC desk survey and audit reviews. My role in aligning current billing software procurements, staff training, and the command of A/R collection, resulted in the State of Florida - Department of Veterans' Affairs decision to remove its funding from the State’s General Revenue and rely solely on investment strategies and current billing revenue collections. I believe my ability to devour knowledge and accept new challenges will propel my qualifications to the top of your candidate consideration. I am well versed in ICD, CPT and HCPCS coding, and have billed and collected RUGS IV skilled care, long term custodial care and Part B restorative therapy. I am also strongly knowledgeable in JCAHO, CMS and VHA medical documentation requirements. Software applications include PCC, Ultracare, FLMMIS, MVP, Availity, RFMS, IVANS/DDE and Microsoft Office Suite.As the manager of a seasonal tax office, I was tasked with growing new business by 10%. The YOY metric in 2015 exceeded 59% and my store led the Eastern region in new client growth. This task was accomplished by identifying trends and designing initiatives to support and increase market share and training subordinates to further develop their sales performance. I am presently completing a Bachelor’s program in Health Services Administration with an expected completion date of December 2020.
