Abridged resumé: I am a Metallurgical Engineer (Extraction) by profession with 20+ years’ experience in various aspects of mineral processing. I have worked on ex-pat basis and mostly within the South-African borders. This includes upfront operations such as primary crushing, secondary crushing, scrubbing/milling, screening, as well as beneficiation processes such as dense media separation, magnetic separation, X-ray concentration. I also have extensive experience in Red Area operations including final recovery and sorthouse – processes such X-ray recovery, grease belt recovery, drying, pneumatic conveying, magnetics removal, acidisation and other cleaning methods. I have worked on open cast, underground and alluvial deposits.My experience also includes Tailings disposal – both coarse and fine tailings deposition. I have been in charge of setting up sampling campaigns, collation and dissemination of relevant data and conclusions drawn from the data. A great deal of work has gone into the provision of “Process Assurance” to mine management in terms of being part of Mineral Resource Management and Diamond Value Management Committees. I headed a department focused on process control and automation (PLC / SCADA systems). I have also done plant commissioning, project initiation and project team member. Have worked on large and small production plants as well as Bulk Sample Plants and have been part of “Care & Maintenance” planning.I have had in excess of 100 employees under my control. Training/Courses: National Higher Diploma in Metallurgical Engineering, MDP (University of Stellenbosch). Personal: I believe I am a dedicated professional with more than adequate experience behind me. I am a person who prefers to be given a job and left to do it. I am not interested in politics; I am there to do my job to the best of my ability. I am a team player with the belief that the greater picture is the more important one – set, follow and fulfill the strategy.
