About Jean Thorson

As the Area Director for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) in Bend, OR, I am passionate about building strong communities where coaches and athletes can grow not just in their athletic abilities, but in their faith and personal development. With a background in both the dental and fitness industries, I’ve always found fulfillment in service-driven roles—whether it's helping individuals build confidence or guiding teams toward achieving their goals. At my core, I believe that success is a journey made up of small, purposeful steps. I enjoy working with people to identify their unique gifts and talents, helping them set achievable goals that eventually lead to significant accomplishments. From my experience in fitness environments to working with FCA, my approach has always been rooted in encouragement, support, and the belief that everyone has the potential to overcome obstacles and achieve greatness. A career highlight for me was in 2019 when I was given the opportunity to bring a vision to life at Nike WHQ. Transforming an empty space into the Metcon Studio was a project that allowed me to meet individuals where they were in their fitness journey and provide them with the tools and encouragement to push past their perceived limits. It was about more than just physical fitness—it was about building self-confidence and helping people realize that what once seemed impossible could be achieved. I’m now focused on fostering partnerships with like-minded individuals and organizations who share my passion for impacting the world through the influence of coaches and athletes. My goal is to continue expanding the reach of FCA, supporting communities of believers who are committed to making a difference, both in the locker room and beyond.
