About Jeanna Outerbridge

I am a self-driven independent person by nature, which transfers into my professional life as an educator. I believe as an educator that all children, regardless of race, social economic status, learning and/or behavioral challenges have the ability to learn and reach their full potential as individuals. I am a strong advocate for students with disabilities, and believe that their learning should be individualized to meet their individual needs, ensuring that their learning is rigorous. My objectives are to ensure that I am meeting every child's needs that I service, with the goal of them becoming self-reliant and self-advocates as it relates to their future. As I look towards the future as an educator, I am looking towards administration, where the passion that I have for children can extend beyond the classroom to working with teachers as a colleague and coach to transform instructional practices that incorporate culturally relevant practices for all children; and working with teachers and staff to ensure that our instructional practices meet the needs of all students. Throughout my educating career I have lived by the mantra "if it's not good enough for my own children, then it's not good enough for the students that I service." This mantra rests on the premise that " Greatness is Not an option, it's our lifestyle, it's simply who we are!"
