Background

About Jeena Choi

I have over eight years of experience in providing therapeutic intervention for children with ASD with coexisting diagnosis. I first started implementing one-on-one IBI therapy with clients ranging in ages from 3 to 10, and quickly advanced to a Senior Therapist, conducting assessments, collecting and analyzing data, revising programs, developing monthly reports, and providing parent training. Since then, I have found my passion for DIR, and have over 5 years of experience using the DIR Floortime Model for children ages 2 and up in a private school setting. I continue to foster my DIR knowledge through higher education with ICDL, and collaborating and consulting with Occupational Therapist's, Speech Language Pathologist's, and Physiotherapist's. Now, as a Senior Therapist, I assess and develop individual education plans for students, behaviour/ regulation protocols for safe intervention. I also have established experience in directing camp programming throughout the school year. My passion is to serve the children I work with and allow them to reach their full potential across various skill domains using the DIR model. I also shed light on community resources for our parents and caregivers, and continuously advocate for appropriate mental healthcare services that empower children with developmental disabilities.
