About Jeewon Ryu

As an architect with an international practice that spans across USA and in Korea, I have spent most of my professional career working on small, mid size, and large scale buildings for residential, business, commercial, and educational, industrial, and federal clients. My skillset includes all aspects of the design process from conceptualization to construction administration while working with various design and build vendors on diverse project sizes and budgets. In addition to having experience in managing projects in different stages, I am well versed in writing technical documentation including specifications, materials and material selection, and procurement. Applying architectural projects compliant to construction codes and ADA is crucial for project success. I have capability and knowledge of construction and permit procedure such as zoning ordinance, building code, residential code, energy conservation code, local code, directives including Americans with Disabilities Acts (ADA), and LEED Analysis. Running my own architectural firm and representing company, I performed some testimonies at the public hearings for clients. I also interacted with attorneys, architects, professional engineers, and contractors providing legal, aesthetical, technical, and practical advices. Having performed construction as a construction manager lets me get through budget management, estimation of material & equipment, and labor to determine project feasibility. Having provided construction administration services as an architect lets me deal with various RFIs/submittals for building administrative procedures. From these experiences, I can interpret civil, structural, and MEP drawings and can apply to the various forms related with administrative procedures such as plan applications, work permits, and inspections.My solid experiences in architectural firms, construction, and engineering companies have disciplined me not only to orchestrate design process but also to perform all kinds of techniques and managerial skills. I expect my previous professional expertise could contribute to make city better and safe.
