About Jeff Bates
I am the Executive Director of Afterschool America, which was formerly The Boys & Girls Club of Hood County. We changed our name in October 2017 after we started serving youth outside of Hood County. I was the 1st CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of the San Gorgonio Pass. I was with the Boys & Girls Club movement from 1993 until October 2017. As the Executive Director of Afterschool America I am excited to grow our organization and serve more youth with awesome afterschool programs!#AfterschoolWorks I was named the Executive Director of the Year in 2013 for the Southwest Region by the Boys & Girls Club of America's The Professional Association. The main professional goals I have currently are to grow our afterschool presence and to partner with churches & schools that want & need our services! I enjoy developing our team members professionally as they are the future of the non-profit/charity sector. I am also having a great time growing a community on YouTube & I started a podcast to talk about other things I am passionate about in July of 2019! Things I am Good At: Saying Yes to People Who Can Help Me Serve Youth, Saying No When Needed, Being Passionate About What I Do, Sharing What I Love & Hopefully Providing Value When & Where I Can!
