About Jeff Clemmons

I have spent 30+ years working up from helpdesk to Infrastructure Operations management, by way of Systems Engineering and Networking. I picked up certifications along the way, but what works and counts most for me is experience. I have been places that were successful and other places that were toxic. I have seen what works and what doesn’t work. I have also been lucky to have some great mentors to help me along the way. Being impartial with your documenting and reporting just the facts. Facts will speak for themselves, and any editorial information is not needed. I feel I have been successful at this role due to a few things. • I grew up in my career through technical infrastructure (systems and networking), so I have a decent understanding of how back-end application, servers, and communication works. • Data orientated. I find ways to seek out relevant data and use it as needed. • I started my career as tactical like most everyone, executing to solve problems and issues. Once you reach a management level you have to cross a line over to a more strategic approach. Now you have to plan ahead define your objectives and goals. Outline how you plan to achieve your objectives and goals. Then utilize your tactical skills for the specific actions you need to take to deliver on those objectives and goals. • Visualization and documentation. I have been able to determine how to document and visualize ideas, concepts, processes, and flowcharts. Put these together for others to follow. • Proper communication. I have been able to straddle the 2 worlds of technical and business communications. Potentially, detailed versus summarized. Many times, you will need 2 different emails depending on the audience.
