Background
About Jeff Dixon
I grew up as that kid who read Fangoria, worshipped Disneyworld (I wanted to live in Pirates of the Caribbean or The Haunted Mansion), and watched every single horror movie his local video store in small town Utah had on the shelf. I graduated from film school, worked odd jobs on a few indie films (I was even Fred Ward's body double once), then decided to move out to Los Angeles. Here, I worked at Danny Devito's Jersey Films for a while; worked here and there in order to constantly keep writing; then finally was able to quit and write full time. Thank goodness that worked out. I'm a Gersh-represented writer who loves to focus on the horror and thriller genres, but really just enjoys writing anything that allows me to be creative. I've penned everything from comedies to family animation to everything in between. I've sold many TV and feature scripts to various studios and/or production companies around town. Most recently, I was a co-writer on the Rob Cohen-directed action film, The Hurricane Heist. I also occasionally work for comics, and published a full-length graphic novel for APE Entertainment titled, Run Like Hell. Both myself and my projects have been mentioned in Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, as well as countless internet websites. To be honest, when it comes to writing, I've kind of done it all. Some interesting highlights of my EXTREMELY varied and bizarre career are- Won 1st Place in an international screenwriting contest, which was basically my "big break"- I created and sold a horror TV show with Jamie Lee Curtis (she even gave me credit for her return to TV in a TV Guide interview)- I've written for World Wrestling Entertainment (writing for wrestlers is insanely fun)- I wrote and co-directed a zombie/fitness video game hybrid for Microsoft XBox (yep, we kind of created a genre)- I recently sold a spooky animated series to a large studio (that must go unnamed for the time being). My newest writing venture is finally following my lifelong worship of Pirates of the Caribbean and The Haunted Mansion by fully delving into the world of themed entertainment. I'm currently immersing myself in the world and am ready to write and create with a passion unrivaled by most. If you'd like to learn anything more about me, or just want to stalk me inappropriately, feel free to head to my website at if you want to hear me speak on AM talk radio about horror movies, click the link below.
