About Jeff Evans

I am a professional music composer and producer. I enjoy creating original music and also enjoy helping others achieve their dream of taking their ideas to a completed stereo master. I earn part of my living doing this. I also offer a lot of broad range audio services too which include mixing and mastering. Supplemented with teaching and performing. I have a powerful music production technology setup in Ballarat and can create original music for a wide variety of mediums. The Jemusic studio is based around three computers (huge VST synth system) working in conjunction with hardware DSP, Digital Mixing System and a powerful hardware based Synthesiser System. There is a combination of analog and digital signal processing. The studio also houses a Sonor drum kit, Upright piano, African and Latin, Middle Eastern percussion instruments, a Yamaha electric bass, Strat guitar and an acoustic guitar. I also have a Marshall guitar amp and a variety of guitar pedals. I offer post production audio services for TV, film and theatre. Jemusic has a large sound effects collection. I can transfer ADAT, a wide variety of analog reel to reel formats, cassette and vinyl to digital formats. I have mixed projects from overseas locations, created music for production libraries. This is a growth area for Jemusic right now. I am in contact with a network of amazing session musicians (all age groups) on all acoustic and electric instruments as well as a range of singers. About the music. One of my favourite sounds is combining world music, electronic music and Jazz into one form. I have also studied a Jazz degree on drums and have a strong Jazz influence. I am into many styles. The music that is produced in the Jemusic studio is varied. I have composed a lot of music for theatre and developed interesting styles and sounds there. I have deep roots in electronic music from 70's and 80's. I enjoy collaborating with other musicians creating a third sound neither of us would have alone.
