About Jeff Gaskell

Having begun my Maritime Career in 2003 with enrolment to Georgian College Marine Navigation Program, I have since worked my way from the Great Lakes out to the Offshore spanning much of the globe. With 4 years in Marine Seismic, I had excellent opportunities to work on new build vessels from construction and sea trials to putting them into operation and working our way through the teething problems. In a newly started company, we worked to develop the planned maintenance system and make continuous improvements to the Safety Management System. During my time there, I worked my way from 3rd Officer / Jr. DPO up to Chief Officer / DPO. Moving to deep water drilling, was an opportunity to develop skills with acoustic positioning systems, working with ROVs and acquire further knowledge of intensive DP operations. Embarking as Master of a new build Ro-Pax was an opportunity develop ship handling skills in confined ports, while leveraging my past experience with modern new build ships and their attendant technical issues.
