A Quality Engineering professional with 19 years experience in the Medical Device Industry and 29 years in the Quality Engineering field. As a Quality Engineer I have worked in all areas of Quality from customers down to component suppliers. My skill set is mainly in Supplier Quality with 22 years experience. Major strengths are in supplier quality for a variety of purchased material, inspection and manufacturing support, SPC implementation, database applications, and maintaining quality systems and processes to meet ISO/FDA/GMP requirements. I have worked on many project management teams and have strong written and communications skills. I am a dependable, thorough and well organized planner with a successful track record in improving and resolving material problems. ACCOMPLISHMENTS • cost savings per year by qualifying a new supplier dedicated cell for stainless steel needles, and adding a heat treat oven to the cell eliminating the outside heat treat process. • Developed a database using Microsoft Access to track nonconformances. • Implemented production SPC control charts to monitor critical dimensions of guide wires. • Implemented daily Laser Profiler calibration using a pin gage to reduce unnecessary scrap. • Provided IQ/OQ/PQ implementation guidance for Infeed Royal Master Grinder equipment. • Implemented Supplier Certification Process, 80 part numbers were certified reducing inspection time 20 hours a month • Reduced supplier base from 376 down to 300, a reduction of 20%. • Reduced pending Material Review Board (MRB) material in the first 3 months of employment. • Increased incoming material conformance rate from 87% to 98% in 5 years.
