About Jeff Hays

I'm extremely passionate about open source web and software development and try to constantly rethink new approaches to making any website or software a faster and more enjoyable experience to navigate. I enjoy technologies from all avenues of development and am always trying to re-learn better approaches to build lean, headless, fully-customized, scalable and secure web solutions. I am currently most comfortable with JavaScript/jQuery, CSS/LESS/SCSS, PHP, node.js, MySQL, and try to familiarize myself with most bleeding edge technologies and frameworks that have been identified as an industry standard. I have a passion for systems administration, cryptography, blockchain development/technologies, and love all things related to security and server architecture. One of my favorite things to do is write code to automate any tedious task we repeat in life. I try to keep the pulse on bleeding edge technologies and strive to never be "stuck in my ways" with anything. I LOVE to be schooled on things I know less about than others in the room. Overall I enjoy making the web a better place, and that starts by caring about more important things (like the end user's experience) rather than making money. I like to take my time to create things the right way, and like to give back to the community by posting tutorials and explaining my process along the way to help other developers start a conversation about the best approach. I take a lot of pride in what I do and am always looking for feedback and constructive criticism on how I can improve my process.
