About Jeff Katz

Jeff Katz, PE, PSP is an Executive Vice President of Vertex who leads Vertex’s contract claims practice. Jeff's work primarily focuses on delay and productivity analyses, standard of care, and design and construction disputes. Jeff is a graduate of Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering and a professional engineer, licensed in New York. He has provided expert witness services and testified in matters across the United States, over a variety of disputes and project types, including airports, bridges, high-rises, highways, hotels, military facilities and embassies, multi-family residential, water treatment plants, wind farms, and more. Jeff frequently prepares papers and presents at various industry events for AGC, Construction Superconference, Surety Claims Institute, CMAA, and and guest lectures at Columbia University. In 2018, Jeff was selected as one of Civil + Structural Engineer magazine’s Rising Stars. Before heading Vertex's contract claims group, Jeff managed Vertex's surety division for the Northeast region, providing construction management and surety consulting services. He has consulted on and managed several megaprojects domestically and internationally and leverages his extensive practical experience for his expert work.
