About Jeff Lareau

Hi! I’m Jeff, and I like to help people. My background is in workforce development, nonprofit management, and grant management. In a workforce capacity, I specialize in assisting unemployed, underemployed, and underrepresented demographics obtain employment in IT. The IT industry has a massive problem with under-representation in regard to gender, race, and LGBTQ, and I'd like to do what I can to fix that problem. I graduated from Hult International Business School in London with an MBA in 2013. Since 2014, I've worked at CompTIA's workforce charity, Creating IT Futures. Currently, I work on our development team managing our partnerships, stewarding our donors, procuring grant opportunities, and representing the organization at events nationwide. I also sit on our Corporate Culture Committee, which organizes charitable events year round and ensures CompTIA continues to be recognized as one of the best places to work in the Chicagoland area. In my spare time, I love watching movies and writing music. I'll talk your ear off about Dog Day Afternoon, J.J. Abrams's overuse of lens flares, and Jerry Goldsmith.
