About Jeff Leclerc

Jeff Leclerc has been the University Secretary at the University of Manitoba since November, 2003. As University Secretary, Mr. Leclerc serves as Secretary to the Board of Governors and Secretary of Senate and is a member of the President's Executive Team. Prior to becoming University Secretary, Mr. Leclerc served as Academic Specialist in the Office of the University Secretary, and prior to that as Director of the Constituency and Parliamentary Offices of a federal cabinet minister. From 1998 to 2001, Mr. Leclerc held office as a Councillor in the Rural Municipality of Ritchot, chairing the Finance Committee. From 2006 to 2012, he served to the Board of Trustees of the Seine River School Division and chaired the Human Resources and Governance committees. Mr. Leclerc holds a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of Manitoba, completed the Institute for Educational Management at Harvard University and holds the Chartered Director designation offered by McMaster University. He also currently serves as Chair of the Canadian University Boards Association, a Trustee of the United Way of Winnipeg and a member of the Pension Committee for the University of Manitoba Pension Plans (1986) and (1993).
