About Jeff Lekstrom

Jeff has dedicated his life to Trades and Apprenticeship Education Starting out as an Interprovincial Red Seal Welder and gaining experience in Oil and Gas, Mining Construction, Forestry and Pulp & Paper Industries and owning his own business. When an opportunity presented itself, he transitioned into the Trades and Apprenticeship Educational field as and Instructor for 12 years and then into Management positions as Manager of Trades and then as Dean of Trades and Apprenticeship in the BC Post Secondary system for over 10 years. All the while increasing his education in Training, Leadership, and Management areas. In 2012 he and his family accepted a position in Papua, Indonesia as the General Superintendent of the Nemangkawi Mining Institute, supporting approximately 103 staff and 1200 students. This was an opportunity that was a dream come true, to help indigenous & aboriginal people build sustainable careers and futures in Trades and Apprenticeship in a developing area. While there had the opportunity to study & learn the Indonesian language. Avid Hot Rod and Motorcycle enthusiast, Builds Hot-rods for a hobby Dedicated to my family Spent 2 1/.2 exciting years in the Jungles of Papua Indonesia leading and Educational institute and providing sustainable careers for local Papuan people. Enjoy Camping, Kayaking, Bike riding and swimming
