Background
About Jeff Lindhurst
I have over 30 years of engineering experience with Material Handling, Automation Systems and ASIC R&D and most recently US Navy program leadership at Northrop Grumman. While studying Electrical and Computer Engineering at Ohio University, I interned at Lincoln Electric Company in Cleveland, Ohio, graduating with my BSEE in 1992. I then moved from Cleveland to Baltimore, MD in 1993 to start my long career with Northrop Grumman. As a field engineer with controls expertise, I traveled the US commissioning letter mail systems for the USPS. When the program was complete, I moved back to Baltimore to lead R&D programs for package handling, robotic containerization systems, bundle distribution, information technology and finally flats mail sorting and sequencing. My controls experience grew with distributed controls networks such as Devicenet, Ethernet and CANOpen through a variety of programs for the USPS, In 2002, I then moved to the United Kingdom to integrate and test Flats sorting systems for the Royal Mail, leading a team of multinational engineers. Then in 2003, I brought the technology from the UK experience home to the USA, which led to a FSS contract with the USPS. I have been a leader in the concept, design, prototype demonstration, testing, evolution and production the Flats Sequencing System (FSS) for the USPS. As I&T lead, acquired one patent for automated tray transfer technology. In 2010, I continued my support for the USPS and national security as Engineering Manager for the Biohazard Detection System (BDS) which protects Americans from exposure to anthrax. In 2014, I then began a career transformation as lead Systems Engineer for a superconducting electronics program. As SEIT lead, I also transformed this hardware program to an Scaled Agile framework in the Solution Manager agile role, while also earning my SAFe® POPM certification. In 2020, I again lead the agile transformation for a NAVAIR program as Agile Release Train Engineer (SAFe), while also acquiring my SASM SAFe certification. In 2022, I moved to our Annapolis office to support a NAVSEA program as SEIT Lead and Agile Release Train Engineer. So much fun to work on cool innovative technology to support our war fighters. In 2023, returned to BWI complex supporting NAVAIR program as Software IPT Lead and pushing the Agile Release Train down the tracks. Specialties: SAFe®, Agile, Control Systems, Asset Tracking, Servos, Automation, Conveyors, Robotics, Sorters, Staging Systems, System Layouts and Design, US Navy
