I am passionate about corporate communications and marketing! I am a corporate communications and marketing professional with proven ability to implement integrated strategic communications plans directed to internal and external audiences, creatively meeting the business needs of internal stakeholders and effectively building organizational reputation and brand awareness. In my current role as Communications Manager for Red Deer Polytechnic (formerly Red Deer College), I focus daily on enhancing communications efforts to ensure that the institution's diverse audiences are informed of news, information and upcoming events, using traditional and online platforms. I'm proud to collaborate with content experts throughout Red Deer Polytechnic and the talented IT Services team to ensure that our organization's website and intranet (TheLoop) deliver high-quality user experiences while sharing accurate, relevant and timely information with students, employees, and other valued stakeholders. My experience also includes providing media relations expertise, coordinating proactive and reactive coverage, helping to ensure this organization maintains a positive public image. Previously, I worked as a journalist, providing me with diverse experiences that allow me to better understand the role and needs of the media partners I now work with as I share Red Deer Polytechnic's success stories. My media relations experience includes acting as spokesperson, coaching others to share their expertise speaking with the media, and measuring the effectiveness of the coverage this organization receives. My diverse skill-set also includes: speech writing; event planning; advertising; social media; and coordinating crisis communications efforts.
