Background
About Jeff Morgan
I am a proactive hands-on engineering professional with 25+ years of experience with both manufacturing and product design. I have an extensive background with metal fabrication (forming and stamping), heavy metals for use in commercial construction projects along with the equipment and machinery for its safe handling and processing. This began by working on consumer products in an R&D Environment for the first few years and then moving into high-volume automotive components (fuel lines and brake lines). Working on all sides of the engineering process has provided me a unique insight into what is necessary for successful product launches and support of projects throughout their lifecycle. My ability to multitask and work as a project leader (teacher) or a member of a cross-functional team (student) has greatly influenced my desire to continually learn new methodologies and ideas so I may pass them along to fellow engineers and techs. I routinely move from one project to another by employing and utilizing the best manufacturing practices (Root Cause, 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, FMEA, Gantt Charts, Time and Motion Studies), many of which are part of the MS Office Suite and ones that are not can generally import and/or export data in a format one or the other can read. This ability to multitask has afforded me numerous opportunities to be a part of projects ranging from consumer products to DOD initiatives. I have supported the installation and operation of automated, semi-automated, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment to meet ever changing customer’s needs by increasing material throughput with reduction in equipment cycle time and up-time through automation, preventative maintenance and training. I have also served as a backup Safety Engineer and EHS Engineer and have training in Lockout/Tagout, ARC Flash, and my certification in CPR/First Aid/AED has just been renewed through 2023. My career has enabled me to work with many types of equipment from PCs and PLCs to Robots and Lasers. I take every opportunity to expand my knowledge and gain experience to ensure I remain a viable and productive member of my team. I am formally trained in 5S and 6S, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk AutoCAD and Unigraphics NX. I am familiar with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IS16949 and OSHA, TOSHA regulations, UL and CSA/CGA regulations. I apply what I learn to the manufacturing floor in the form of SOPs, Work Instructions, daily 5-minute huddles, work-cell layout and line flow to keep pace with an ever-changing production environment.
