In only his sixth two-year term as state senator representing the 53rd district, Senator Jeff Mullis is proving to be one of Georgia’s most important political leaders. Sen. Mullis is currently the chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee, chairman of the Transportation Subcommittee of Senate Appropriations, Secretary of Rules, and a member of Banking & Financial Institutions and Economic Development. He is also a member of the influential “Committee on Assignments.” Senator Mullis was first elected to the State Senate in He is from Chickamauga, and currently serves as an economic developer in northwest Georgia. He has also been the recipient of several awards in recent years, including: the Governor Zell Miller Public Policy Leadership Award from the GEDA, the GMA “Champion of Georgia Cities” award three times, the ACCG “Legislative Service Award” four times; and the Legislator of the Year award for his dedication to the Georgia Fire Service.
