My research is focused on using nanostructures to fabricate a novel neural optrode interface for use in extracellular recording of neuronal assemblies and optogenetic studies. I have created a nanocoax-based neuroelectronic array technology that electrically isolates individual sensing areas through local shielding while also facilitating the ability for confined optical interrogation of cells. I have led in the design, fabrication, and characterization in addition to performing the simulations and analysis of these novel devices.
