About Jeff Paredes

As a Principal Software Engineer on the Outlook Web Access (OWA) Authentication team, I focused on building and evolving secure authentication systems that serve millions of users across Microsoft’s web and Windows platforms. My work spans the full auth stack—from protocol-level design and token lifecycle management to session resilience, telemetry, and incident response. I’ve led efforts to modernize our authentication flows, reduce sign-in friction, and harden our systems against evolving threats. This includes integrating with Microsoft’s identity platform, implementing Zero Trust principles, and driving improvements in conditional access, token binding, and session integrity. I’ve also contributed to security reviews, threat modeling, and post-incident analysis to ensure our systems are resilient and trustworthy. Beyond technical implementation, I collaborate closely with partner teams across identity, security, and client engineering to align on architecture, compliance, and user experience. I’m passionate about building systems that are secure by default, scalable by design, and intuitive for users.
