About Jeff Payne

I am passionate about people hearing, seeing and responding to the Gospel, then growing in their personal relationship with Christ. I enjoy helping and building teams through relationships within the community. I serve as a pastor in South Carolina where we strive to love God and be bright lights in dark places in our homes, town and to the nations. Most recently, I served the communities of South Carolina as the Mobile Crisis Program Manager with the South Carolina Dept of Mental Health. Together, our team facilitated 24/7 access to on site crisis services across 46 counties. We assisted 16 mental health centers with developing and maintaining their crisis services with 47 full time and over 200 part time crisis clinicians. For more than 15 years, I have served as a Christian counselor, pastor, elder, lay leader and volunteer in multiple ministries. For 33 years, I had the honor of serving in the United States Air Force Active Duty and as a Reservist. I retired in February of 2020 after serving the 315th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron as the Superintendent. In Dec 2021, I earned a Doctorate in Education Leadership at Charleston Southern University. My dissertation, Crisis in the Hallways: A Qualitative Study on Mental Health Crisis Intervention Training for School Resource Officers, has been published in ProQuest.
