About Jeff Pederson

I am a successful Senior Systems Administrator with 13 years of experience, and I am confident that I would excel as Sr. Systems/Network Administrator. My background in Windows Domain Administration and my experience with both physical and virtual infrastructure, position me to be a valuable asset and make a positive contribution to your Information Technology Department. At Central Oregon Community College, in 2002, I lead the transition from Novell Netware and FirstClass messaging to Windows Server with Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange messaging. Over the years, I have managed the evolution of our environment through successive upgrades to reach our current configuration. Today we have a Windows 2008 R2 Domain with Microsoft Exchange 2007, 2010, and 2013 (Office 365). This is a hybrid configuration utilizing Active Directory Federation Services and Windows Clustering services. I designed and built our test lab environment that cloned key production systems including servers, client workstations, and network infrastructure (switches, routers, and firewalls). I have recently obtained the CCENT certification from Cisco (July 2014). I designed and implemented our custom identity management solution for provisioning, de-provisioning, and maintaining nearly user accounts using MSSQL and PowerShell. This includes security and distribution group management where conducive to automation. I have also been the lead in our virtualization efforts at the College. I started with a single VMware ESXi host and four VMs in 2008. Today we have 80+ servers running as VMs in a three host (n + 1), High Availability, vCenter cluster. I am a constant learner, and I always strive to keep up with the rapid changes the IT industry throws at me.
