About Jeff Shaffer

I have 17+ years of experience mobilizing partners to support and care for marginalized populations through Collective Impact models with the Central Coast Collaborative on homelessness, SB ACT, and the County's Human Trafficking Task Force. I have history with boots on the ground teams and stakeholder coordination in Santa Maria, Lompoc, Goleta, Santa Barbara, and Carpinteria. I have also started up many programs which are still in existence today or being utilized by county-wide partners such as helping to establish the Vulnerability Index, introduce Regional Action plans to homelessness, and create Neighborhood Navigation Centers addressing homelessness in Santa Barbara and Goleta. I am the Co-Founder of SB ACT and pastoring under the umbrella of Communitas International. I also have been in pastoral leadership in Santa Barbara since 1992. Starting at Community Covenant and moving on to working with Communitas International. I have both pastored the local church and assisted the local church with sustainable engagement with those living on the margins. I have been working with Westmont College since 2012 contracting with various programs such as Urban Initiative, Westmont Downtown, Thriving Communities, and the Campus Pastor's Office. I helped found their Spring Break in Santa Barbara program and am now working on a training program for students in partnership with 5Q and walking students through their gift mix found in Ephesians 4. My passion is to seek the holistic welfare of everyone in Santa Barbara county utilizing the Collective Impact model and building trust with all partners to bring about greater outcomes. I also want to mobilize students to understand how to have the greatest impact in the city.
