About Jeff Simons

Procurement and Contracts Professional with 14 years experience in Mining and Resources across multiple jurisdictions and countries, currently on a European sabbatical returning home soon. Starting in the mining industry with Newcrest Mining in 2010 responsible for Fixed Plant Maintenance, he later moved into various Asset Management roles including major greenfield project management, business improvement and material handling. In 2014 came the appointment to the role of Group Procurement Category Lead responsible for global sourcing across multiple categories, this role evolved to further projects and appointments in areas such as procurement, cost control, cost reduction, organisational structure review, business improvement, team management, First Nation relations, asset integration, governance creation, process creation and dispute resolution activates. These appointments provided experience in multiple locations including Regional NSW, Remote WA, Melbourne, Perth, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and North America. Prior to Newcrest Jeff was the Director/Owner Operator of a small manufacturing and maintenance business servicing the food and timber industry.
