About Jeff West

I am passionate about marketing because it affords me the opportunity to focus on our customers and go deeper than just the floor. I am inspired by the challenges they face and the visions they are pursuing. Those afford us insight to create products, tools, training that ultimately help them transform their spaces. I grew up in the flooring industry. When I was nine years old, my father founded Sunrise Carpets, a carpet company that was later acquired. I spent many summers and many days after school working in the mill – and later in the business side. I learned a lot including the value of hard work and the importance of delighting our customers. After graduating from the University of Georgia in 1988, I had the privilege of joining Shaw Industries, which I had always revered as the leader in the flooring industry. In my more than 30 years with the company, I have had the opportunity to see many sides of the business including roles in manufacturing, quality control, product development, custom design, sustainability, and marketing. This journey helped me realize that it all comes down to people. Leadership simply comes down to listening, engaging, involving, challenging, and encouraging. I am so blessed to be able to work with the best team in the industry.
