About Jeff Yocum

I am a hard working, honest and dedicated person, willing to do whatever is required of me to help my employer. Since I am single, I believe that I have an advantage of possessing a more flexible schedule compared to others who have family obligations. I have a friendly and kid-like attitude, but I am also very professional and serious about doing my job right. I also enjoy sharing my travels from living/visiting 9 foreign countries and I use those life-events to motivate young people to improve themselves. I believe that through my schooling, training and experience, I am an ideal candidate for a job that mentors and guides young people. • My Bachelors of Science degree has increased my knowledge in all basic subjects such as science, math, college writing and literature. • Through my minor in Youth Ministry I received training in a number of psychology subjects, social dynamics, counseling and youth development. • Though it is no guarantee of ethical behavior, I believe my Bible study and training has further enhanced my moral obligation to interact with and help people in a fair and loving way. • For over two years working with Horizon International school in Mandalay, Myanmar I gained experience working with you of various ages teaching 1st, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 9th and 10th grade English and ESL. • I mentored and counseled youth ages 10 to 18 through my work at the Gustke Shelter and Pressley Ridge. I also received a great deal of experience and training in crisis intervention, goal setting, first-aid, and CPR while employed at these facilities. • Moreover, I gained additional experience helping with youth programs at my church and working summer youth program the YMCA in Bedford, Virginia. I believe these experiences further enhanced my ability to interact and relate to children of all ages and temperaments. I recently moved from Ohio to Florida to search for better opportunities.
