About Jeffrey Effendi

In a world where progress needs north stars, my work revolves around instigating the necessary moonshots.I’m a strategy and communications leader whose best work comes from bringing to life high stakes ideas that broaden humanity’s horizons to dream — from building an inclusive internet to enabling everyday democracy and leveraging business as a force for good. Today, I'm focused on empowering people in emerging nations to grow stronger in times of climate uncertainty. In my decade-plus career, I’ve shifted how we solve for hard social and climate problems with Google, UNICEF, Change.org, Fortescue, Carbon Neutral, Habitat for Humanity, Australian Government, and many more, from startups to institutional nonprofits and household brands. This has led to world-first social media laws being featured on TIME, industry stepping up digital literacy investments for internet users, and keeping open a legal clinic for refugees.Along the way, people have been kind enough to champion me as a Forbes Under 30 Honouree, Queen Elizabeth II's Young Leader, Young Australian of the Year Nominee, UNICEF Australia Young Ambassador, and World Economic Forum's Global Shapers Co-Curator. I've found it hard to share these highlights, but I'm learning to own them.I spend my days with my wife and ever-cheeky daughter between sunny Perth and Singapore. You can connect with me at jeff@drawhistory.com.
