What are the implications of Play in Education at all levels? Play represents a shift from the current print-anchored and tech-infatuated model into a communication-driven habitat model of Education. Play-infused communication represents a fundamental shift away from the economic and emotional domination of the learning culture by corporate and political power brokers into a culture—a learning habitat- made free, far less costly, and more creative and humane—essentially a world of learning and teaching more alive and life-affirming crafted in the image of the young to respect and respond to the needs and requirements of developing minds and spirits. In our relationship with the young, we adults must begin communicating through Play-the language young people are innately tuned to-the language of dreams and innovation. In this way, the imagination becomes the self-knowing point of the inner compass primed and pointed intuitively for exploration, navigation, and living one’s life to the fullest. The implications of moving Education forward based on the principle and science of Play will be a timely world-changing advance for humanity. The full embrace of Play will ground education in rich soil to grow the seeds of far-reaching human enlightenment. The harvest: generations everywhere nourished and nurtured by their birthright of the civilizing and catalytic fruits of play—a gift long withheld and denied young people in the name of education.
