About Jeffrey Lam

When I think about my career thus far, I take great pride in the diversity of roles that I have inhabited as an educator. In each of these roles, I have relied on my sense of authenticity, optimism, and transparency to collaborate with students, families, and colleagues to achieve goals and promote growth. As a teacher, I enjoy the challenge of developing and delivering lessons that provide access to the curriculum for students with special needs, and I firmly believe that all students are capable of success when given a welcoming setting, positive support, and appropriate accommodation. As a case manager, I am accustomed to collaborating with parents (and sometimes advocates and lawyers) to set realistic goals while coming up with innovative solutions to ensure academic success and personal development. While working with parents, I believe in being proactive and transparent, willing to listen, and always calm and collected, even in the face of frustration. In my most recent role as an Activities Director, I have been blessed with the opportunity to build a positive school climate rooted in recognizing all walks of student achievement while celebrating the diversity that exists in the youth of tomorrow. Overall, the experiences that I have gleaned from each of my positions has greatly shaped my perspective towards education, but at the core of my being, each of my actions as an educator has been motivated by a desire to have a positive impact on each of the students I work with.
