About Jeffrey MacMillan

My life is story is an amazing tale filled with big goals, large dreams, and massive achievements. As a non-traditional student I strive to incorporate my vast life experiences into my passion for broadcast. As a student journalist I've written for all forms of campus media; KCWU-FM, Pulse magazine, and the Observer newspaper. I helped build KCWU FM into an award winning college station. In January of 2015 I was promoted to director of sports for KCWU. In 16 months’ time I grew the product from 2 employees to a staff of 26. I spear-headed an effort to bring CWU athletics and KCWU to a partnership; which brought central sports onto the airwaves under student supervision for the first time in more than 30 years. I had the opportunity to learn the management side of the sports radio industry while still perfecting my on air talents as the first student to perform as the Radio play by play voice of Central Washington University. I am looking to expand my knowledge in the field of sports broadcasting by any means. In June of 2016, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Relations and Digital Journalism, with a minor in sports business. In July of 2016 I started as the General Manager at 88.1 The Burg KCWUFM- Central Washington University's radio station. I am currently still working here am continuing to learn new skills to build on my previous 16 years of management experience.
