Background

About Jeffrey Malone

I am a writer/blogger/media producer specializing in entertainment, comedy, and culture. I graduated in 2010 with a B.A. in English from Loyola University Maryland, and then I graduated again in 2015 with an M.A. in Media Studies from The New School. I have experience in creating thoughtful reviews/recaps, mind-tickling listicles, and humanistic think pieces. I am also skilled with video production and editing: my pieces can be described as fiction, documentary, experimental, or plain old unclassifiable. I currently reside in Brooklyn, NY. From 2016 to 2019, I was the entertainment editor at News Cult. I currently focus on running on my own entertainment blog. Colleagues and peers would note my propensity to come up with unique ideas and follow through on ambitious projects. I have been praised for my commitment to providing a well-considered perspective, while harmoniously taking into account the approaches of others. I have also been noted for my odd creative style; some have found it hard to define, but still worth complimenting. I am always on the lookout for opportunities with a multimedia approach to reporting, criticism, and content creation. I relish the opportunity for traditional reviews, reports, and interviews, but I must also satisfy a burning desire to supplement them with videos, GIF’s, Photoshop jobs, audio mashups, Snapchats, wingdings, Smell-O-Vision, and any other existing or yet-to-be-invented media magic.
