About Jeffrey Pierre

As the host and senior producer of the 7 podcast, I deliver a morning news briefing that covers a wide range of topics, from sports and politics to world news and the latest trends. I also oversee the production and editing of the show, ensuring high-quality audio and engaging content for our listeners. Before joining The Washington Post in 2022, I spent six years at NPR, where I worked as a producer and show director for Morning Edition and the Up First podcast, and after that, as a producer and engagement editor for the Education Desk. I coordinated story ideas and workflow, managed long-term projects, co-hosted and produced a podcast for grade school students, and developed newsletters and social media strategies. I also spent some time covering the climate as a science reporter. I have a bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communication from Florida International University, and I am fluent in English, Creole, and I also speak a little Spanish and French. I am passionate about helping people tell their stories, exploring sustainability, photography, and sports (you can always find me at a local soccer match or NBA game).
