About Jeffrey Posey

7 years professional laboratory science, 3.5 years academic and 3.5 years biotech/biopharm. Virtually all of my cell culture and molecular biology experiences are in the name of viral vector production. I had fallen in love with adeno-associated virus (AAV) in 2018 and more recently lentivirus (2024). These are practically the same times my adoration for gene and cell therapy occurred, respectively. For me it has been a passion of molecular biology and cellular biology rapidly morphed into virology, process sciences, purification, and biophysical characterization of quality attributes. Its hard at this point to know which occurred first so I like to express my interests in molecular and cellular virology. This to me sums up that no matter which mechanism it leads to virus. Or at least that has been my thinking for some time. The next generation of gene and cell therapy requires exceptional delivery systems. May the best macro-molecule(s) win! Delivery systems heavily dependent on use case so to optimization of our greatest inventions. My future, like my past will likely involve virus. I am pursuing bioinformatics to expedite knowledge of vector production, purification, and process. Whether proteomics or vectoromics production and purification have a lot of unsolved mysteries to do with heterogeneity. We march as an industry toward therapeutics for all genetic and cellular disorders and I love being a part of that team. I dream of breaking ground with you and the others, godspeed.
