About Jeffrey Rubin

I am an experienced reinsurance and insurance Senior Executive and litigator with over 40 years of experience who is an ARIAS certified arbitrator and is able to serve as an "active" arbitrator and umpire. For the past 18 years I have served as the Senior Executive responsible for all claims through-out the world for Odyssey Re and for claims throughout the United States for our insurance subsidiary and for claims throughout Europe for our Lloyds syndicate. Prior to joining Odyssey i was General Counsel, Director of Litigation, and Reinsurance Specialist for large US based property and casualty insurance companies for 6 years; and a partner and associate at a major Chicago litigation law firm for 12 years. I was responsible for the management of one of the most significant English reinsurance commercial cases over the last 50 years (Sphere Drake Insurance v Euro International Underwriting, Ltd,) and multiple related arbitrations in England and the United States. I have handled many large reinsurance and insurance disputes through-out the United States as outside counsel. I have also managed a number of very large ceded finite reinsurance disputes and other assumed reinsurance disputes and overseen the handling of numerous latent claim disputes and arbitrations. I can accept "active" arbitration appointments as I continue to serve as an officer of both reinsurance and insurance companies. I have served as outside counsel and umpire in several arbitration proceedings to final award before the National Futures Association and as an arbitrator in a proceeding to final award in a large private arbitration.
