THE IMPOSSIBLE OF YESTERDAY IS THE ROUTINE OF TODAY It is amazing to sit back and think about how far mankind has progressed in such a short period of time. Products and processes that we thought nearly impossible a few years ago we now take for granted as being a normal part of our daily lives. Every day we are presented with opportunities to change that future one small step at a time: with hard work and a little ingenuity. My purpose in life appears to be solving problems. For some reason I just have a way of looking at a situation and formulating a logical hypothesis of what the potential causes of the problem are as well as a selection of possible solutions. Being able to bring an idea for a product to life and actually see that product being used by consumers is a great feeling. I have been fortunate enough to experience the process from concept generation to production launch. With advancements in materials, rapid prototyping, and flexible automation it is amazing at the speed and accuracy we can get new ideas into market. The wonders of modern manufacturing make producing the product just as fun as designing it. Spending my time building and creating is what I enjoy doing. I am definitely the mad scientist type that is always experimenting to find a better, faster, and cheaper solution. I consider that to be a very strong character trait and one I am actively passing onto my three sons and daughter. I hope that they may share in the excitement of the engineering world. I always find myself being the one to take charge of a situation and leading the team. I have a tremendous thirst for knowledge and I try to get some exposure to every item I possibly can. It is fun living at a time when you are able to be more than just an expert in one area. You can be good at both sides of the science and art fence so that the product and customer gets the best possible solution and you can participate in the entire process.
