Starting July 2025, Payload Engineer on the ESA RAMSES mission for Planetary Defense (as a contractor from Telespazio Belgium). Responsible for performance and interface specifications for instruments on RAMSES, as well as overseeing technical aspects of instrument design, fabrication, integration, and test from the initial concept to operations. From 2020 to July 2025, lead Instrument Systems Engineer for the GeoXO Imager (GXI) instrument on NASA’s GeoXO Flight Project (as an RSI contractor). Previous responsibilities at NASA included serving as Post Launch Test Director for the GOES-R and GOES-S satellites from 2015 to 2019, as well as performing subsystem-level radiometric and optical analysis and monitoring system-level integration and ground test for the GOES-R Advanced Baseline Imager from 2008 to 2015. Previous to NASA support, Principal Investigator at RSI in development of aerospace and defense technologies ranging from electric propulsion to MEMS, from to 2008. Founded and managed the RSI Princeton Operations branch in handling strategic objectives, market strategy, hiring, budgets, and program management. Government customers included NASA, DARPA, ONR, AFOSR, and NIST. Principal Investigator on more than twenty programs, inventing new concepts, securing outside funding through successful proposals, planning development efforts, performing hands-on experimental work, and reporting on results. Skills: Technical experience in diagnostics (remote sensing, radiometry, plasmas, charged particles, inertial sensors, spectroscopy, fluids, optics), optical instruments, electromagnetic propulsion and power, microfabrication (photolithography, thin film deposition, MEMS), vacuum science, plasma science, mechanical, thermal, and electronics design, programming (Labview, Matlab, FORTRAN, C++), and numerical simulation (finite elements, optical analysis, finite differencing). Experienced in systems engineering, communications, strategic planning, business development, program management, market assessment, hiring, and financial strategy. Children’s Aikido instructor. Singer-songwriter. Proficient in French; introductory Dutch skills; native English speaker.
