About Jen Hammond

In the years since graduating from college I’ve held many different positions at a wide array of companies doing a variety of things. I started out cataloging commercials for media research purposes and currently write and proofread captions and transcripts for college classes. In between I’ve done credentialing of medical professionals, built websites, editing a horse racing publication and managed its website. I’ve worked as a temp employee for Amazon in a role that had me editing and creating product pages. I’ve also temped in an HR department and cataloging news and similar articles for college research purposes. In every role I’ve faced new challenges and, more importantly, learned new skills. I am detail-oriented, love to research and find ways to innovate. I am adaptable, resourceful, self-reliant and persistent. In my spare time I like traveling (and want to do more), taking photographs (especially of nature), and watching horse racing and other equestrian events. I also love to read and will read just about anything from romance to suspense to history to psychology. One of my favorite things to do is teach myself new skills in my downtime. I’ve learned HTML, CSS, the basics of QA, SQL, Spanish (to an intermediate level) by utilizing books and sites like Udemy. In a potential job I am looking for a career that allows me to use my talents and skills while teaching me something new. With such a varied background I don’t feel limited by industry and believe the skills I’ve developed will translate to any field and set me up for success. My interests range from working in archives and libraries to doing technical writing to editing websites and proofreading writing to working in travel.
