About Jen Jones

I am a Northern-placed and community-driven researcher with 25 years of working as a consultant and part of staffed teams for NGOs, First Nations governments and both the Territorial and Federal Governments. I have a background in public health, northern governance, community well-being, and conducting and supporting research in the North. I have managed large teams and budgets. I have experience with developing and adjudicating grants and awards as well as managing the allocation of Northern research dollars. To all my work I bring expertise in applying the social determinants of community well-being within the context of Indigenous/settler relationships and modern-day governance. My approach to shared projects involves engaging with the community to ensure values align with the project outcomes and are reflected in programs, policies, and services. I am interested in working with First Nations governments, non-governmental organizations, Federal departments, and research groups that focus on Northern-specific issues.
