About Jen Liptrot

I’m an experienced executive in the Ontario Public Service, with a proven track record of developing new initiatives from ground-level policy thinking (“what is the problem we’re trying to solve?”), all the way through to successful program launch. As the Director of the Municipal Services Office - East Region for the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, I provide leadership to a range of advisory services to municipalities related to local governance issues and administration, land use planning and housing and homeless programming for municipalities in eastern Ontario. Since joining the OPS in 2007, I’ve held a series of progressive management and leadership positions focused on large-scale transformation initiatives. Whether it’s in policy or in operations, I thrive on being able to lead teams to drive the agenda to make change happen, work through the design / improvement / re-engineering process, engage with diverse groups of stakeholders to incorporate “on the ground” intelligence, and support a smooth and successful launch. And then I like to geek out through evaluation to figure out how to get even better outcomes. Before joining the OPS, I worked exclusively in the voluntary sector with organizations focused on women’s issues, and employment and training, again advocating for change through community-based policy research and government relations work.
