About Jen Pardoe

Bio: I am an experienced and adaptable education leader, currently leading Morecambe Bay Academy as Headteacher and SENCO. Throughout my career, I have been committed to breaking down barriers to success, ensuring that no child’s future is limited by poverty or educational disadvantage. Under my leadership, Morecambe Bay Academy secured an Ofsted ‘Good’ rating in September 2023—an incredible achievement for a school previously judged as inadequate before academy conversion. Prior to this, in my role at Lancaster Girls’ Grammar School, I led key areas—including SEND, Personal Development, Safeguarding, and the Sixth Form—to an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ outcome in 2022. I bring a wealth of leadership experience from diverse school settings, spanning high-performing grammar schools to coastal schools facing significant challenges. My ability to drive school improvement is underpinned by a deep commitment to inclusion, diversity, and belonging. Recently, I successfully led a school to achieve the full Lancashire Equality Mark—one of only three schools in the county to do so. As a lifelong learner, I hold a Certificate of Graduate Apprenticeship and achieved a distinction in my Best Practice Level 7 Headteacher Apprenticeship with NPQH. I have further developed my expertise in inclusion through the NASENCO qualification and the NPQEL is preparing me for the next stage of my leadership journey. I have also served as a school governor and am a strong advocate for #WomenEd, championing women in educational leadership. My philosophy is simple: belonging is the foundation of a thriving school, and bold, values-driven leadership can transform lives.
