About Jena Ethier

I have completed my Mechanical Engineering undergraduate degree at Laurentian University, where I experienced a growing love for design, problem solving and hands on experience. I have always been passionate about leadership and teamwork, so the opportunity to complete a final year Design Project for Vale with my fellow colleagues was an incredible learning experience and very rewarding. Over four years of university I gained experience in AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS, Java, and MATLAB, as well as hands on experience in the Machine Shop at Laurentian University. Following University I actively pursued non-profit work with InterVarsity Canada as well as the Friends of Killarney Park. My desire to build community, make connections, and advocate for people and places I am passionate about has lead me to multiple leadership opportunities where my social and organizational skills have been given room to develop. Additionally, I have gained valuable experience in fundraising, retail, event planning and conducting myself in a managerial role. In a workplace I value a strong work ethic, a desire for new innovation, and opportunities to work as a team. I am open to many different avenues in the widespread mechanical engineering field, as well as opportunities in non-profit organizations. I do not shy away from learning new things, and I have always enjoyed nature and the outdoors, so any opportunity to gain experience in that work environment is desired.
