About Jencye Quintanilla

Hello all. My name is Jencye Quintanilla, and I am a Florida native. I grew up on my family's farm, which provided me with valuable knowledge and skills that shaped my identity and professional goals. My passion lies in agricultural and life sciences, and I am committed to addressing the ongoing challenges the agricultural sector faces. I earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida's College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. I also graduated with Honors, achieving the Cum Laude distinction. Throughout my journey at UF, I experienced profound intellectual growth, gained insights into effective leadership and communication, and broadened my understanding of the complexities of agriculture. Additionally, I participated in volunteer programs and independent volunteering, providing me with hands-on experience in community outreach and advocacy. This experience further solidified my desire to pursue a career where I can make a meaningful impact. I aim to further my education and experience to contribute to the agricultural community, which has offered me numerous academic, professional, and personal opportunities. I seek to merge my agricultural background with law by pursuing an education in legal studies to provide agriculturalists with the resources and knowledge they need to protect their land and livelihoods. Knowledge is power; a more informed, equipped, and empowered society has the potential to cultivate a balanced relationship between law and agriculture, achieving a dynamic equilibrium. My ultimate objective is to work toward creating an interdisciplinary connection that promotes environmentally, economically, and sustainably beneficial practices. As a prospective JD candidate, I am excited to embrace my future endeavors and hope to impact the legal system and agricultural community.
