About Jenessa Rodriguez

I started out as a GIS (Geographic Information Systems) intern at the DuPage Water Commission. During my time as an intern, I demonstrated not only my excellent data entry skills but I attended any meeting that my supervisor attend; including board meetings. I was asked to take notes at these board meetings and my notes and attentiveness earned me a full-time position. For more than 10 years I have been the Document Management Specialist. In this role I lead the project for the company’s first Document Management System (Interwoven) before migrating our documents to SharePoint. I am also the Handheld Device Manager- I initially integrated iPads and iPhones to staff and board members and now all staff has iPhones. In addition, as the Water Conservation Coordinator, I also attended Green events and connect with others interested in saving water. Even though DWC is a water wholesaler, we believe in conserving water for future generations. I was also part of a staff team that designed and now I manage it. It originally used Dot Net Nuke, but now utilizes WordPress with some html coding in the background. While working with technology, I became more and more interested in it. I attend all internal and external Information Technology meetings. Every year, we are able to attend training and I earned my my CompTIA A+ certification and Microsoft Office Certification in Outlook and Word. In addition to these positions, I was also the Water Conservation Coordinator, Recording Secretary, Uniform Program Manager, Freedom of Information Act Officer, Meter Billing Assistant I’m truly passionate about my work and always eager to connect with others. While I enjoy all aspects of my job, I think my favorite part is managing the website. I enjoy using a different language (html) and seeing how it looks after I hit save. Even though it can be frustrating when it does not turn out the way I want it to, I enjoy the challenge of it. In April of 2020, I applied and accepted the position of GIS/CMMS Coordinator. In addition to managing our website and handheld devices, I now manage our GIS (Geographic Information System), CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), SharePoint, Cell Phone and Device Service Account, and Vehicle Tracking Software.
