About Jenna Horning

As a current senior at Susquehanna University, I am pursuing a bachelor's degree in Communications with a focus on Sports Media. I am also also focusing on my personal interest in learning about new cultures and perspectives by minoring in International Studies and Anthropology. I have gained valuable experience in the field of sports communications through my roles as an Athletics Administrative Office Assistant and an Athletic Communications Staff Member at Susquehanna. In these positions, I have supported various administrative tasks, such as scheduling, budgeting, and record-keeping, as well as assisted with creating and managing content for the athletics website and social media. Over the summer of 2023, I left home and drove to Wisconsin for an internship with the Wausau Woodchucks, and there I was given the opportunity to have creative freedom. In that role, I further honed my skills in content creation, adobe photoshop, and time management as a social media coordinator. I have also developed my public speaking and interpersonal skills as a Student Ambassador, representing the university and engaging with prospective students and their families. Additionally, I have enhanced my cultural awareness and language proficiency by studying abroad and studying Arabic in college. I am motivated by the opportunity to share the stories and achievements of both athletes and teams, and to connect with diverse and global audiences. I am eager to learn and to contribute to the success and growth of the sports communications industry.
