Background
About Jenna Necaise
I am a dedicated and aspiring Biomedical Engineering student at Washington University in St. Louis, eagerly pursuing my Bachelor's degree with a passionate focus on neuroscience and neuroengineering. My academic journey has provided me with a strong foundation in Bioengineering and Biomedical Devices, and I'm particularly enthusiastic about applying these skills to the realm of neuroscience/neuro-engineering. As a student, I've actively engaged in various campus organizations, including the Gender Expansive Multicultural Society (GEMS), EnCouncil, Society of Women Engineers, and the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES). These experiences have not only broadened my horizons but have also honed my leadership and interpersonal skills. My commitment to making a positive impact extends to mentoring and supporting fellow students. As a McKelvey Believes Mentor and Aspirational Peer Mentor, I've guided first-generation, limited-income, first-year students through their college journey. I have also served as a Resident Advisor, where I honed my skills in conflict resolution and crisis management while fostering a safe and inclusive living environment. In addition to my academic and mentoring roles, I've ventured into entrepreneurship. I'm the proud owner of a business that upcycles thrifted clothes through custom-made artworks, promoting environmentally-conscious consumerism. This endeavor has not only strengthened my entrepreneurial spirit but has also sharpened my design and time management skills. My ultimate career goal is to leverage my multidisciplinary background and diverse skill set to drive innovation in the field of biomedical engineering, with a specific focus on advancing our understanding of neuroscience and neuroengineering. I am excited to explore opportunities and collaborations in this exciting field. Let's connect and discuss how my passion for neuroscience and neuro-engineering can contribute to groundbreaking advancements in the industry.
